About

Me

I am a writer with a passion for speculative fiction, mysteries, and romance, but an avid reader of just about everything.

I grew up in Austin, Texas where I found my love for the outdoors, yoga, and weight lifting. I left Texas in 2015 with my partner ‘just for a few years’ and have since lived in Southern California and Southern Sweden. I now call the Pacific Northwest my home. Honestly, my love-affair with grey-chilly mornings, rain, and lush greenery makes me wonder how I didn’t wind up here sooner.

I have a BA with a focus on history and philosophy, and a JD, which has resulted in questions of ethics, legal arguments, and philosophical debates sneaking their way into much of my writing.

I believe it was Einstein who said, “Once you stop learning, you start dying.” Long story short, a few years back I added a certification in personal training to my education and I continue to study up on the human body, with a focus on mental health. (Obligatory side note that nothing in my blog should be taken as professional medical advice. I am not a medical professional, I just like to know things.)

I am represented by the fabulous Alisha West with Corvisiero Literary Agency.

The Cats

These fluffy support beasts are very important to the writing process and my life in general.

For those of you who have followed this website since its inception, you will recognize Editor Cat below. My fabulous Taz passed away in 2020.

His successors (Ori & Ziggy) are less enthralled with the editing process. They prefer to focus on motivational distraction techniques, which include many breaks for hydration and play.
